Few places encapsulate the effects of time as much as Günther Domenigs “Heft” in Hüttenberg: Within an old furnace, more recent steel structures form stages and platforms, forging intense relations of old and new.
But even more recent structures fall victim to the power of time, slowly deteriorating. Within this flux of decay and renewal, nature creeps in, introducing a third life cycle. The AR installation creates an active experience of time intervals unseizable to human perception, allowing the participator to experience a journey with years of growth and decay along the extend of a corridor.
A digital nature was designed and mapped, becoming activated by the user through motion-triggered sensing. This provides an individual, interactive experience and the chance to communicate speculative futures within reality.
